Shest osem edno

2005 · Documentary
Six Eight One is a museum of a film, which weaves into its narrative the historical dignity and cultural identity of the Bulgarian nation. Divided into three parts, based on a tiered principle, the film conditionally divides historical time into three phases: the genesis of civilization on Bulgarian soil, Bulgaria's gradual involvement in the flow of history as a centralized state with its own fate, and finally, the journey through five dark centuries of bondage and tyranny, through the April Uprising and the independent development of Bulgaria after the Liberation.

With the help of effective three-dimensional animation, modeled on reconstructions by some of the nation's leading archaologists and historians, and of the music specially composed for the film on the basis of ethnic motifs from Bulgarian folklore, Six Eight One raises from the ruins symbols that are emblematic to Bulgarian culture and statehood.
