After visiting Bulgaria every summer since I was born, I thought I knew all there was to the Bulgarian education system. My cousin, Ellie, is the same age as me and through her I felt that I had vicariously gone through the system myself. Little did I know I had only scratched the surface. After following Ellie to school and interviewing some of her classmates, I realized the true issues of the Bulgarian education system at hand; what may seem like a distant paradise coming from my parents may actually have been truly destroyed by the Reign of Communism. A country stands at the level of its education. Where does that leave Bulgaria?
