Dyrvo bez koren

An elderly man is attaching a graft to a tree. He is Gatyo. He has a dream – to tame the wild pear-tree and to create a path of blossoming fruit-trees towards the peak dominating over the village. When his wife dies, he moves to live with his son in the city. However, the noise and the dynamics there disturb the old man. His daughter-in-law, who is an actress, tries to probe into the old man's complicated mentality, but she is not able to help him. In the big city Gatyo is searching for a human contact, but finds only indifference. It's impossible for him to adapt to the new environment. He leaves the luxury flat and goes back to his blossoming path.
