Ekzitus

Having lost his job at the university, the main character in this film now works at a movie theater doing minor management chores. When he isn't drinking himself senseless, or having a brief sexual escapade in his office, he obsesses about his lost career, and about the death by fire of his brother and also of a movie-theater employee. The only excitement in his life is the upcoming premiere of a Norwegian movie, and the presence of a Norwegian actress to promote it. He's like to put the moves on her, but she brushes him off.
