An amusing comedy for children featuring the adventures of six fat kids in a sanatorium for weight reduction opened by a foundation in an old fortress by the Danube river. Overcoming the trials they encounter and faced with unexpected facets of adult life, the children imperceptibly grow up.
As they are unable to cope with the strict sanatorium diet, the children sneak out to look for food in the vicinity. This is how they meet Uncle Angel and start helping him in exchange for snacks. The old man tells them about the pelicans from the nearby reserve, and one night, driven by hunger, the children decide to try the eggs of the rosy birds. This is how they find out that the foundation which owns their sanatorium illegally exports the eggs abroad. The boys succeed in exposing the smugglers and returning the rosy pelicans’ eggs back to the reserve.
