Vula (1965)
Plot
A wedding to be performed at the Palace of Marriages in Bulgaria is the first part of this documentary. With joyful cheers from their family and friends, the intended couple arrives for the ceremony, a tradition that is many centuries old. After the ceremony is completed, the guests throw a party where celebrants drink booze and dance the twist. In stark, somber contrast, a ceremony from 20 years earlier is shown. The grim grooms are married just before they are to be executed by Nazi soldiers.
