Dako Georgiev Dakovski was born on August 7th, 1919 in the village of Tyrnak, near Lovech. One of the first of many graduates
of the Moscow Film School, Dakovski contributed to the birth of the Bulgarian national film industry, beginning with an adaptation of Ivan Vazov classic national novel Pod Igoto (Under the Yoke), 1952, and continuing with a series of films about contemporary issues, especially those involving peasant life: Nespokoen Pat (The Troubled Road), 1955, and Taynata Vecherya Na Sedmatsite (The Secret Supper of the Sedmaks), 1957.*
