Centres on a father and son and the love they bear one another. However this is threatened when his father uses his influence to get his son into an art academy after he has failed to do so for seven years. However the son wishes to protect his dignity and resists his fathers attempts to get him into the college "through the back door." In the end the father comes to realise how his own dignity and self worth has been diminished over the years, and the boys determination helps him retrieve what he has lost.
