Prozorecyt

1980 · Drama
"Prozorecyt" was adapted by Georgi Stoqnov from a successful play of the same name by Konstantin Iliev, and is a complex tale of a man and the two women in his life. Love and infidelity is warped, stretched, and twisted in the story, exposing the far side of some common human failings. The tale begins with a husband who loves his wife - barren though she may be - yet wants children desperately enough to take a mistress (whom he also loves) and get her pregnant. Once the child is born, the husband and wife adopt him, but then the husband has a change in his affections and goes to live with his mistress, taking his son with him. Bereft of both husband and adopted child, the wife climbs through the window of the mistress's attic loft in order to steal the little boy back. Rather than a simple kidnapping, the wife is first faced with a former, elderly actress, and then her own nephew. When the husband gets there, the dialogue increases in complexity along with the situation, as the ensemble tries to reach a final decision on the fate of the child and his warring parents, all three of them.
