Hylmyt na borovinkite

2001 · Comedy
It is December 31th, 1999, and a successful artist from Germany is traveling by airplane to Istanbul to ring in the New Year with his friends.
He lands in Sofia and due to bad meteorological conditions cannot continue on by plane. Since there are no other options, he boards the train for Istanbul.
During the trip he falls out of the train. He finds himself unconscious in a strange sort of tavern, built on the railroad tracks, through which a train is passing. The patrons revive him. In the tavern there is a strange girl, the daughter of the innkeeper. She goes with him into the village to look for a telephone...
At the same time, one of the passengers - the "Nosy One" - enters the Foreigner's compartment, finds some liquor, drinks it, dresses in the Foreigner's clothes and totally takes on his identity.
The conductors don't notice the difference.
In the village the foreigner comes upon a village wedding. The Mayor is marrying off his son.
Kalina, the mayor's daughter, speaks English, and she leads the foreigner to the town hall, where there is a telephone. Meanwhile, thanks to alcohol and the euphoria of the celebration, the ancient rivalry between two clans is reawakened. The three Gurguri brothers lay waste to the village.
The foreigner runs into the mountains and falls asleep in a cave. In the morning the orchestra musicians find him and load him onto their truck. They crash.

Time has passed. The police find the Nosey One on the railroad tracks, disfigured from falling out of the train. They find documents in his pockets. They announce that the foreigner is dead. After the crash the girl takes the Foreigner to a small stone house by a lake. The Beautiful Woman from the train lives there. He stays with her.
The next morning the foreigner wakes up alone. The beautiful woman isn't there. He leaves the house with the strange girl. An old truck picks them up off the road. They arrive at the tavern with the huge doors and the railroad tracks through the middle of it. The innkeeper tells his story and the fates of the visitors to the tavern. A train whistle blows. It's Sunday. The train arrives a few minutes early. The tavern is all trembling. The train demolishes it, along with the people in it, before the Foreigner's eyes. He catches the first possible train.
Everyone is on the platform seeing him off. It was a dream.
He runs down the corridor in the train, opens the door to the outside and jumps...
